Five years since the tragedy in the Oil Academy
Wednesday, April 30 marks the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attack at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy (ASOA), which took the lives of 12 students and teachers.
A villager from Dashtepe of the Marneuli region of Georgia, Farda Gadirov, broke into the Academy with a pistol and shot dead the teachers Ramiz Abdullayev born in 1940, Majnun Vahidov born in 1946, Tamella Azizova born in 1951, Ayna Gurbanova born in 1957, Shafa Mammadova born in 1978 and Taleh Mammadov born in 1980, and the students Yusif Bandaliyev born in 1989, born in 1988, Jeyhun Aslanov born in 1988, Emin Abdullayev born in 1989, Ruslan Babashov born in 1990, Ayaz Baghirov born in 1988, and Savalan Jabbarov born in 1987.
The terrorist was killed by riot policemen during the operation to neutralize him.
According to the investigators, the attack was ordered by a villager from Shulaveri of the Marneuli district of Georgia, Mardun Gumashyan, born in 1951. A number of experts and journalists, who conducted their investigation, came to conclusions about the external and internal traces of the crime. According to one version, the massacre was organized by the secret service of one of the most influential countries in the region, while another one points to the involvement of one of the groups in power in the terrorist assault. In particular, the journalist investigation conducted by the correspondent of the newspaper Yeni Musavat, Tofig Yagublu, revealed the failure of the prosecution. This journalist was convicted in 2013 in the case of the Ismayilli events and is serving a sentence on trumped-up articles 220.1 (organization of mass disorder) and 315.2 (the use of violence against employees of police, dangerous to life and health).
Recall, according to the official version, Farda Gadirov allegedly received a fee of $50,000 for the attack from the Armenians, but it is known that Gadirov and his parents lived in Russia, where he was preparing to conduct an act of retaliation, as he called it.
From early morning, the area adjacent to the academy has been guarded by reinforced patrols of police. Security measures are taken, in particular car drivers are prohibited to park in the surrounding streets and squares.
Traditionally students annually celebrate the day of the tragedy that is not approved by the authorities. -0 -
