For the first time in Azerbaijan, the number of people who recovered from COVID-19 exceeds those infected, the second day in a row

Baku/17.04.20/Turan: On April 17, the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan reported 57 new infected COVID-19. Sixty-eight  people recovered, said the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.

The total number of infected reached 1,340. At the same time, 528 people recovered, 15 died. In special treatment hospitals, 797 patients are being treated, including the condition of 26 people is assessed as severe, 35 - moderate, the rest - stable.

In total, 86 607 test studies were conducted in the country in order to identify new infections. It should be noted that for the first time in Azerbaijan, the number of recovered exceeds the statistics of those infected for the second day in a row.

On April 16, 30 new cases of infection were recorded, while 56 people recovered.  In general, on April 17, the fourth case of an excess of cured over infected per day was registered. The first case was recorded on April 12, the second on April 14, and the third on April 16. However, despite the emerging positive trend, the authorities are in no hurry to mitigate the special quarantine regime.

"Despite the positive dynamics in statistics, we will continue to keep the situation under control. We will see how long this dynamics will continue, whether it will be stable or not. What additional measures should be taken? Quarantine was envisaged until April 20. However, according to experts, the quarantine regime should be extended. I believe that this will be the right step, since positive dynamics have only just begun to appear. We must make this dynamics sustainable. Therefore, the operational headquarters will soon IT about this issue of extending the quarantine regime - the only right decision," said  on Friday the country's president Ilham Aliyev on the video with the Ministers of Employment and the Economy - Sahil Babayev and Mikail Cabbarov.-06D-
