Former diplomat Emin Ibragimov was detained (UPDATED)
Emin Ibragimov was detained as a suspect under Art. 126.1 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm), providing for a prison sentence of 3 to 8 years.
His lawyer Agyl Layij told Turan about this. Ibragimov told him that on the evening of July 22, near the Khalglar Dostlugu metro station, he was attacked by an unknown person and immediately people in civilian clothes appeared. They detained Ibragimov and took him to the 24th department of the Nizami district police department. There they used force against Ibragimov to force him to give out his phone code.

Former diplomat and activist Emin Ibragimov was detained by the police. As his relatives told Turan, in the evening hours he called and said that he was at the Nizami district police department.
“He said that he was detained allegedly in connection with stabbing someone. Emin said that this is not true,” said Ibragimov’s relatives. The information was also confirmed by lawyer Agyl Layij. In turn, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed the Turan agency that Emin Ibragimov, born in 1981, had a personal dispute with a citizen born in 1987. “As a result, Emin Ibragimov caused bodily harm to a citizen with a knife. Ibragimov was detained, the victim was taken to the hospital,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Ibragimov formerly worked in the system of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. Later he left the diplomatic service. In recent years, he has sharply criticized the Azerbaijani authorities, including including, as he believed, for the deterioration of relations with the West.

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
