Former head of Baku Metallurgical Company denies allegations of embezzlement of AZN 55 million
Baku/09.09.22/Turan: On September 9, the Baku Serious Crimes Court began a judicial investigation into the case of Rasim Mammadov, the former head of the Baku Steel Company. An indictment reads that Rasim Mammadov abused his powers, entered false information into the documents, created companies under other names, where he sold the plant's products at low prices. In general, he was charged with embezzlement of 55 million manats.
The defendant himself denied these accusations, saying that he was innocent. He said that the documents presented to the court are not correct and he is ready to present documents that refute these accusations. He asked the court for time to prepare to testify on the charges. The next trial is scheduled for September 12th.
According to the information of the State Security Service, which detained Rasim Mammadov on February 3 this year, over several years he embezzled more than 13 million manats, plundered products worth 42 million manats.
Thus, serious damage was caused to the financial position of the enterprise. In addition, Mammadov embezzled money from individuals by fraud. --0--
