Gas Consumption Limit Rises from May 1
Baku / 30.04.19 / Turan: From May 1, Azerbaijan increases the limit on natural gas consumption by the population. This decision was adopted by the Tariff Council on April 30.
From May 1, subscribers from the population category will pay gas at a price of 0.1 manat ($ 0.058) for consumption up to 2,200 cubic meters per year. Earlier, at this rate, the population paid only for volumes up to 1,700 cubic meters per year.
Over the limit, each cubic meter of gas will still cost 0.2 manat ($ 0.12).
This decision was made by the Tariff Council after studying the proposal to increase the limit from President Ilham Aliyev, Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said.
According to the Minister, about 85% of consumers from the population category will be able to consume gas within the limit now.
From May 1, the counters will be reset and the countdown of the new annual limit will begin, Mustafayev said. -06D--
