Baku / 08.07.19 / Turan: In the evening of July 7, a strong hail began to fall in Gakh. This was reported from the representative office of the executive branch in the village of Zarn. The hail mostly fell on the villages of Zarna and Lyakid.
"At first a strong wind blew. Then it started to rain, turning into a hail that lasted 10-15 minutes," the office said. The hailstones were big like walnuts, so the fruit trees were damaged. With such a hail, the representative office said, damage was most probably caused to personal farms.
"Now the villagers are clearing the roads. Probably, if there is damage, there will be an appeal to the Executive Office of the Gakh district," the Zarna village representative office said.
This year, the weather conditions in the north-western region of the country were unfavorable. In April-May, as well as in June, and now in July, there was hail in the area. Experts say that one of the reasons for the high prices for fruits and vegetables this year is adverse weather conditions. -0-
