Health of NIDA activists worsened
Today is the 14th day of the NIDA activists who are on hunger strike. Doctors do not help the strikers, only sometimes they measure their blood pressure, Turan was told by the parents of imprisoned activists. According to Turkan Huseynova, a spouse of Rashadat Akhundov, hunger seriously undermines the health of activists.
"Rashadat has bad stomach ache, Zaur Gurbanly’s skin comes off the heels , Uzeyir Mammedli can not move. Nevertheless, activists will attend the trial on May 1, and will say their last word. Prison Service has issued a statement which denies a hunger strike of NIDA members. "These eight arrested normally eat in their cells. They do not have any health problems," says the Penitentiary Service.
* Members of the NIDA Movement were arrested in the period of March-May 2013 for participating in a protest against the soldiers' deaths on March 10, 2014. They are charged with possession of drugs and explosives, and also of hooliganism. Youth activists do not accept the charges, considering them a political order.
Organization "Amnesty International" considers them prisoners of conscience.-16D04-
