Heavy rains caused flooding in country's Astara and Lankaran regions
Baku/18.09.23/Turan: The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported damage to a number of settlements in Astara and Lankaran regions of the country due to heavy rains last Sunday.
In particular, private houses and other buildings were flooded. Emergency Situations Ministry's forces are busy pumping out water, as well as carrying out evacuation works in the flooded areas.
Erchivan settlement and Mashkhan village of Astara region, as well as Sutemurdov village of Lankaran region are among the affected areas.
As for the rest of the country, floods were also observed in a number of other places. Most of the country experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday, while snow fell in the highlands.
Floods were observed in mountain rivers of Sheki-Zagatala zone.
Strength of the north-east wind reached 25 metres per second in some places. Height of waves on the Caspian Sea reached 4.6 metres. -0-
