Heavy rains caused floods and mudslides in the mountain rivers of Azerbaijan
Baku/04.08.23/Turan: Heavy rains in a number of regions of Azerbaijan caused floods in rivers. There were problems on the rivers Kurmyukchai in the territory of the Gakh region and Gabirrichay in the Samukh region, the National Hydrometeorological Service reports in its summary at 14.00 on Friday, August 4. Windy weather is observed in a number of other areas.
In Naftalan, the speed of the north-westerly wind reaches 28 m/s, Aghdam – 26 m/s, Geranboy – 22 m/s, Terter – 20 m/s, Altyagach – 16 m/s, Baku and Absheron – 23 m/s. On the "Oil Rocks" in the Caspian Sea, the wave height is 2.8 m.
