Baku/04.08.23/Turan: In July, the Baku City Clinical Medical Center (CMC) received 658 complaints of poisoning. At the same time, 139 people were admitted to the Toxicology Department of the center for treatment, the rest were released to their homes after primary care. Six people, including 5 men and 1 woman, died, said Azer Magsudov, head of the toxicology department. Three of the deceased were poisoned by acetic acid, 3 by drugs.
In general, 75 of the patients admitted for treatment were poisoned by medications, 26 – acetic acid, 10 – ethanol, 1 - carbon monoxide, 6 – allergic reactions, 1 - botulism. Among these persons, 17 people were stung by snakes, 3 by insects. ---05B06---
