Human rights activists ask to pass Khadija Ismayilova on bail
The members of the Working Group on Human Rights - Novella Jafaroglu, Mirvari Gahramanli, and Saida Gojamanli met with the First Deputy Prosecutor General Rustam Usubov.
According to Jafaroglu, the prosecutor was presented certificates of each of the political prisoners and was suggested the inclusion of their names in the forthcoming decree of pardon.
They also expressed their willingness to bail the arrested journalist Khadija Ismailova, and petitioned for the release of human rights activist Leyla Yunus under house arrest.
There was also discussion about a possible pardon and religious activists. According to Jafaroglu, positive steps by the authorities on these issues can be a major step towards solving the problem of political prisoners.-05B06-
