Human rights defender Taleh Hasmamedov is placed to a punishment cell

Human rights defender Taleh Hasmamedov who is serving his term in the jail N17 was placed to a punishment cell.  For 15 days.  This happened after  on 11 February 11 his wife Fahriya Hasmamedov told on the deteriorating  health of her husband and his urgent need for skilled care.

Mother  of the  human rights activist told  that  after  that  appeal to media  Taleh Hasmamedov was  transferred to a punishment cell for 15 days on the pretext that he "got into a fight with a fellow inmate."

"It is not true. Taleh  is  a quiet person by nature. On the other hand, he is very sick and  is not able to fight someone. How could they place  a sick person  to the punishment cell? Those who ordered his arrest are doing everything to ensure  his stay  in prison. A week ago, when Taleh  spoke to me on the phone he  said that they make  pressure on  him," said Hasmamedova.

She fears for  her  son's life.

The attempts to get  comments in the Prison Service were futile.

Taleh Hasmamedov is  known for exposing corruption and  violations by the  executive powers of the  Goychay-Ujar region. He was several times threatened, and made stop  his  publications. In 2015, he was charged with disorderly conduct, and sentenced to three years. -06B-
