Human rights organization called for the release of political prisoners
Baku/17.02.21/Turan: The monitoring group of Azerbaijani human rights organizations appealed to President Ilham Aliyev with a request to pardon a large group of convicts, according to a member of the Monitoring Group, head of the Society for the Protection of Women's Rights Novella Jafaroglu.
Human rights activists believe that the upcoming Novruz holiday is a good reason for pardoning a large group of convicts, including political prisoners, she said.
Earlier, the Baku Human Rights Club also called on the head of state to sign a pardon decree and presented a list of 110 people. –06D-
