IDP from Aghdam Threatens to Commit Self-immolation in Front of State Committee for IDPs
Baku / 07.09.20 / Turan: A young man climbed onto a billboard on Tbilisi Avenue near the building in front of the State Committee for IDPs this morning and threatened to pour gasoline on himself and set himself on fire.
According to the stories of people gathered at the scene of the incident, the man protested against the red tape of officials of the State Committee for IDPs in the issue of providing him with housing.
The man is a Mushvig from the Aghdam region.
After he climbed the billboard, officials ran out and began to persuade the man to come down, promising that the leadership would accept him.
However, despite the persuasion of officials and police officers, the man did not come down.
A tall man of athletic appearance in civilian clothes who arrived at the scene (apparently a member of the special forces), rapidly rising to the shield, snatched a bottle of gasoline from the IDP's hands and began to calm him down.
Later, a police officer also climbed on the shield and gave the man water to calm him from nervous overexcitement.
After that, the IDP was released.
