Police Detain Turan Correspondents for Filming Demolition of Gurban Mammadov's House
Baku / 07.09.50 / Turan: On Sunday, employees of the executive power of the Narimanov district began to demolish a five-story house belonging to Gurban Mammadov.
This opposition political émigré was accused of collaborating with former high-ranking officials of the presidential administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev and Ali Hasanov.
Pro-government media reported that Mehdiyev and Hasanov financed Mammadov to scold Ilham Aliyev.
After that, Mehdiyev and Hasanov were almost accused of preparing a coup and treason.
For this reason, the authorities began to demolish the residential building received by Gurban Mammadov as a bribe.
On Monday morning, the police cordoned off the area and forbid journalists to work there. In particular, two Turan correspondents were detained and interrogated for photos and video filming, which are “prohibited in this place”. However, the police do not explain why filming is prohibited and on what grounds. -02D-
