"On August 7, I started a hunger strike in protest against my illegal arrest, a registered sentence and a biased investigation of my complaint. The main reason for my 28-day hunger strike is clear to everyone. Everyone should be made to think and worry about the ongoing attacks in Azerbaijan and pressure on freedom of speech, independent media, illegal bans, blockages and ordered arrests of journalists.

In an environment where injustice and arbitrariness reign and laws do not work, it is difficult to fight for restoration and achievement of justice," Rahimov writes.
