Imishli Sugar Factory Suspended Its Activities
Baku / 22.01.20 / Turan: The activities of the Imishli Sugar Plant are practically suspended and about 500 of its employees have been sent on vacation. This was reported to Turan by the engineer of the enterprise Elsever Muradov.
According to him, the production was suspended a month ago.
“The reason for the plant shutdown is the import of cheap products from Russia. I don’t know who needs this situation. In conditions when warehouses are overstocked with sugar, it makes no sense to continue production. Therefore, the workers were sent on vacation,” he said.
Those who had the right to rest received vacation pay in full. The rest were paid only 60 percent of the amount.
Representatives of the staff were invited to the executive branch of the region and promised to inform the country's leadership about the problem. After that, the workers canceled the protest.
If the problem is not resolved, then the only sugar factory in Azerbaijan will close.
