Investigation on drug smuggling completed
Baku / 16.11.18 / Turan: The preliminary investigation of the case against the managers of a number of firms engaged in large-scale illicit drug trafficking has been completed. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General"s Office, the firms Sanimed, Epidbiomed, Loğman Farm and Gömrük Hospitalı supplied the country with low-quality and non-certified medicines.
According to the facts, the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor"s Office filed a lawsuit under the following Articles: 200-1.2.2 (drug trafficking as part of an organized criminal group), 200-1.2.3 (the same actions committed on a large scale, 206 (smuggling) and 308.2 (abuse of power resulting in serious consequences). These firms smuggled, bypassing customs clearance, imported non-quality drugs into the country in violation of regulatory and technical documents for 353,000 manat. In connection with the investigation of a similar criminal case in the State Security Service, charges against one of the defendants - Deputy Head of the Medical Service of the State Customs Committee Farman Mammadov were considered as a separate proceeding and transferred to the investigation to the State Security Service.
