Irada Javadova Demands Reconsideration in Bar Association
Baku / 14.06.18 / Turan: The lawyer Irada Javadova appealed to the Presidium and the Disciplinary Commission of the Bar Association with a call to reconsider the decision to terminate her powers on June 11 and make an objective decision.
Recall that on June 11, the Presidium of the Bar Association on the basis of the Disciplinary Commission's conclusion decided to apply to the court for the termination of Javadova's powers. The basis was the complaint of a citizen K.M., which claimed that the lawyer, spreading "false information" about her detention, "defamed" her name.
In fact, in connection with the illegal detention of K.M. by the Office for Combating Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the lawyer appealed to the Minister Ramil Usubov, after which K.M. was released.
In her appeal, Javadova points out that the Disciplinary Commission ignored the evidence, and made a prejudiced conclusion.
Javadova recalls that she has been a member of the Bar Association since 2005, and since then there has not been a single disciplinary sanction against her.
Despite this, the Presidium took an unbiased and unjustified decision.
In this regard, she requires studying the materials by all members of the Presidium and the Disciplinary Commission, and making an objective decision on the basis of these documents.
Recall that first and foremost, it is a question of an agreement to protect the detainee"s rights.
This document exists, although the Bar Association claims that it was not there and Javadova acted without the consent of the client.
Irada Javadova is known for her active civic position and enjoys the reputation of a highly professional lawyer. She acted as a lawyer in many resonant cases, including mass facts of violation of the property rights of citizens, and protection of activists.-06D-
