Journalist Aynur Imranova is summoned for questioning
Baku Court of Appeal considered the complaint investigative journalist Aynur Imranova against the decision of Nasimi District Court for the arrest of her bank account. According to Imranova, the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of Nasimi Court and without clarifying why her bank account was arrested.
The decision of the Nasimi Court stated that the arrest is based on the representation of the Investigative Directorate for Serious Crimes Prosecution, which has seen violations of the "number of local and international NGOs on Articles 308.1 (abuse of power), and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code."
The Baku Court of Appeal was attended by two investigators from the prosecutor's office who also did not clarify why Imranova’s account was blocked. According to them, they have sent a notification on the arrest of her account, but she has not received it yet." However, on May 27 they summoned Imranova for questioning.
Imranova did not receive 1683 euros for investigative journalism transferred her by the Danish organization "International Media Support."
