Journalist Interrogated in Organized Crime Directorate
The journalist Mamed Suleymanov on August 4 was invited to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC) of the Ministry of Interior, where he was interrogated for 1.5 hours.
In an interview with Turan, he said he was summoned along with his wife. "Since my wife is out of Baku, I went there alone. They talked to me and released me. Perhaps they will call me again," said Suleymanov.
He did not elaborate on what case he was called, citing the secrecy of the investigation. At the same time, he replied in the negative to the question of whether the call was related to his journalistic activities and publications on Facebook.
However, according to unofficial data, the call was connected with Suleymanov’s critical publications on Facebook. Today the journalist’s profile was closed.
Suleymanov told Turan he closed his profile on Facebook under the name of Che Guevara and opened a new one. He did not explain the reason for this.
Suleymanov is a journalist with long experience and is known for critical publications in various media. -03B-
