Journalist is found guilty in beating Ata Abdullayev
Baku/04.13.20/Turan: An employee of the Azadlig newspaper, a member of the Popular Front Party (PFPA), Tazahan Miralamli, was charged as a defendant in a criminal case under Article 221.1 (hooliganism).
Miralamli told Turan that a non-departure subscription has been taken from him. The decision to accuse Miralamli was announced on April 13.
He was summoned by an investigator from the Khatai RUP, Jahid Musaev, and handed over a medical examination report on the alleged video infliction of Miralamli by Ata Abdullayev on February 26.
The journalist rejected these allegations and expressed his objections, not pleading guilty.
Recall that the case was launched in connection with the incident on February 26 during a visit by activists of the PFPA to the Memorial to the victims of the Khojaly genocide. Abdullayev claims that Miralamli hit him.
However, the video from the scene shows Abdullayev, in front of numerous police and security officers, insulting the Popular Front Party leader Karimli, provoking him to retaliate. Miralamli approaches Abdullayev and calls for an end to the hooligan. At the same time, he urges the police to stop Abdullayev.
Recall that Abdullaev regularly participates in police raids against the opposition, playing the role of a voluntary assistant to the authorities. —06D-
