Journalist Sevinj Sadigova subjected to pressure in the city of Ganja
Baku/27.05.23/Turan: The Committee of Independent Reporters (CRC) announced pressure on journalist Sevinj Sadygova, who is a member of this structure. It happened in Ganja, where the journalist went in connection with the coverage of the trial of the arrested head of the site Demokratik.az Osman Rzayev (Osman Narimanoglu).
A police officer prevented a journalist from filming in front of the Ganja Court for Serious Crimes. A policeman and a court employee began to prevent the journalist from filming when a car of one of the court officials drove up to the door of the courts. Sadygova was required not to remove this luxury car. According to the journalist, the policeman even hit her hand.
On May 26, a police office also put pressure on Sadygova in the courtyard of the Geygel central district hospital. The policeman tried to prevent her from filming. The CRC condemned the pressure on journalist Sadygova in connection with her professional activities and regarded it as a suppression of press freedom. The Committee published video evidence of pressure on the journalist.
