Journalists demanded not to stop the Internet
Baku / 30.10.19 / Turan: On October 30, a group of journalists and bloggers tried to hold a protest in front of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies.
They demanded not to interrupt the Internet and mobile communications during the protests, because in this case the media cannot do their professional work, to inform people about the events.
Protesters believe that the Internet and mobile communications disconnects the Ministry of Communications.
The protesters chanted the slogans “Free media cannot be drowned out!” However, the arriving police officers did not allow journalists to read out the picket resolution.
On October 19, during the opposition rally in central Baku, the Internet was disconnected, there were interruptions in cellular communications, and this created problems not only for journalists, but also for other citizens and organizations. —21C-
