Journalists suffered in the night rally near the parliament
Baku/15.07.20 / Turan: Several journalists were subjected to physical pressure last night during a protest near the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan.
Freelance journalist Khayala Agaeva reported that the police put pressure on her when she was filming the detentions of protesters.
“When I was shooting, the policeman took away my mobile phone and journalistic ID. Despite my protests, he did not return them,” Agayeva said.
Freelance journalist Aysel Umudova was also subjected to pressure, her colleague Sevinj Vagif gizi told Turan. In particular, when Umudova was filming a video, a police officer hit her on the arm, and her phone fell and crashed.
Police officers detained the journalists Anar Abdullayev and Firi Salim.
According to activists, the detainees were first brought to the ninth branch of the Sabail district police department, and from there to the Binagadi district police department. It is expected that a protocol will be drawn up against them. The attempts to get comments in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were futile.
The police used force and detained a group of protesters in support of the army broke into parliament, demanding the announcement of a general mobilization. —06D-
