Kh. Ismayilova: Stability of Regime to Be Devalued with Manat
The journalist Khadija Ismayilova gave to the newspaper Azadlig the text of her speech at the trial on the claim of Elman Hasanov (Turkoglu).
"The purpose of our struggle was to create a society that would not use methods degrading people, but today our country has become a country of perjurers, liars and dishonest prosecutors and judges.
I do not care on the basis of what lies they will imprison me, because all of them - incitement to suicide or tax evasion, etc. is absurd," she says.
Why can the government that has so much money, the police, spies and a surveillance system not normally fabricate a case? They are so pathetic and primitive that the regime is represented by Elman Turkoglu.
Despite all attempts, the MNS, the prosecution and the court could not collect anything worthwhile and submit it as evidence.
"There is no evidence. Do what you want. I do not really care. Despite your attempts to isolate me, the society knows about my innocence," she writes.
"The stability of the regime will undergo devaluation with the manat," writes Khadija Ismayilova in conclusion.
* The columnist of Radio Azadlig Khadija Ismayilova was arrested on trumped-up charges of incitement to suicide, but then she was charged with tax evasion, misappropriation and abuse of power. There is no evidence of her guilt. The true reason for her persecution is her exposing corruption in the highest echelons of the government of Azerbaijan. -06B-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
