Landslide Threatens 103 Buildings in Bayil Settlement
Baku / 29.01.18 / Turan: During the research conducted by experts in the landslide zone on the Bayil slope, 103 houses were identified.
According to Israfil Kerimov, Deputy Head of the Executive Power Department of the Sabail District, Turan reported that 90% of houses were built before the 2000s, and 25% in the 1960-70s.
In the last three years, 4 more buildings were built and for each fact the materials were sent to law enforcement agencies.
With the exception of a few houses, the rest are self-structures erected by low-income people and IDPs, and these houses do not comply with the norms of housing construction.
"As for the studies related to the landslide, according to the conclusion of foreign experts, internal tectonic processes are in the initial stage of the active phase.
To prevent the deepening of the processes, a package of proposals will be prepared and submitted to state structures," Kerimov said.
According to him, these conclusions disprove the allegations that the causes of activation of the landslide were construction work and other factors of external influence.
Studies on the territory are nearing completion. Based on their results, the issue will be given a legal assessment. The future fate of buildings in this zone will be resolved in the legal plane.
As noted by Kerimov, the construction of only six houses in this zone was agreed with the state bodies.
Recall that on January 24, 390 residents of 80 houses were evacuated from this area. -05B06-
