"Line of Defense": human rights violations in Azerbaijan are not disclosed
Baku/15.07.22/Turan: On July 15, the human rights organization "Protection Line" presented a regular report on the facts of human rights violations in recent weeks. The executive director of the organization, Rufat Safarov, pointed out that the review period was characterized by increased pressure from the authorities on critics of the regime.
He noted the case of the veteran of the Karabakh war Elvin Jafarov, who committed an act of self-immolation in front of the building of the Executive Power of Sabairabad.
A public activist and blogger Abid Gafarov, sentenced to a year in prison, for conducting a public investigation of the "Terter events", was convicted on trumped-up charges of defamation.
The authorities have not disclosed the fact of the abduction of activist Bahtiyar Hajiyev, who criticized the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, by unknown persons.
The situation is the same with other similar crimes of the previous period. --06B--
