Loss of Security Sector Exceeds 70
From January to September 2013, in the security and defense sector of Azerbaijan, 71 people have died and 74 injured, according to the Center for Military Studies "Doctrine."
Only 9 people were killed while fighting, and 62 during non-combat conditions.
15 people have committed suicide, 12 were killed in traffic accidents, 10 died of disease, 9 in accidents, 6 as a result of hazing, 3 in a helicopter crash, and two civilians were killed.
Fifty-five of the victims belong to the Ministry of Defense, 8 to Interior Troops, 4 to the State Border Service, 2 to MOE, one to the Special State Protection Service, and one to the public service of military conscription and demobilization.
As for the wounded, 40 of the injuries were due to accidents, 13 as a result of hazing, 8 from enemy fire, 5 from a suicide attempts, 3 in fights with civilians, four because of an accident, and one due to a mine explosion .
