Media Review December 30, 2019
Strengthening social protection, prices at fairs, the situation in the banking system are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the strengthening of social protection of the population, about the results of ongoing reforms. So, in 2019, overall economic growth was more than two percent, growth in the non-oil sector was 3.5%, in the non-oil industry - 14%, and in agriculture more than 7 percent. As a result, benefits increased by 50%, the minimum wage was 2 times, the minimum wage was more than 70 percent.
The website Musavat.com writes about prices at festive New Year fairs, where prices practically do not differ from supermarkets, although at fairs prices should be much lower.
Fairs will last until December 30, where more than 140 farmers put up for sale products in excess of 60 items.
The website Fed.az discusses with the expert Akram Hasanov the situation in the banking system. Despite the measures taken by the state, the situation did not improve and at the end of 2019 several banks remained in a difficult situation.
Positive is the fact that control over the financial market has again passed to the Central Bank. At the same time, the expert believes that there will be no progress if the former leadership remains at the head of the Central Bank. New personnel are needed there, and changes are also needed in banking legislation in order to improve the banking sector.--0 ----
