Fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, looking at the essence of distance learning, and discussing a wedding are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the fight against the pandemic, focusing on the social responsibility of each person and compliance with the established rules. Fighting the pandemic is not only the responsibility of the state, but also of citizens. The author recalls that the social isolation rules were introduced in the country on March 14, and a special quarantine regime was announced on April 5. However, weddings and commemorations remain banned, since it is impossible to maintain social distance at these events.
The website Yenisabah.az discusses the issue of distance learning for schoolchildren with the expert Nadyr Israfilov. In his opinion, distance learning can lead to the collapse of the educational process in secondary schools. This can create problems, and students can completely move away from traditional education.
He considers a mixed system of online lessons and traditional classes acceptable. However, in any case, the result will depend on the pandemic situation in the country. At the same time, even with the resumption of traditional education, the Virtual School project should be continued, the expert said.
The website Azpolitika.info is discussing the sensational wedding of Ramiz Mehdiyev’s granddaughter with the deputy Gudrat Hasanguliyev. The MP called normal the use of fines and administrative arrests against the violators of quarantine rules during the pandemic for holding a wedding.
Some people call the administrative arrest of the fathers of the bride and groom a humiliating act. However, Hasanguliyev believes, the President could not have acted otherwise. Otherwise, how would he explain to the people that it is possible for officials to hold weddings, but not for the common people?
