The website Modern.az writes about the emergence of the threat of destruction of the Kura ecosystem, referring to the report of the director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov. The report was presented at the nationwide scientific seminar: Global climate change as the main challenge to the planet and their manifestations in Azerbaijan.

According to the academician, temperature changes were recorded on the Kura-Araz plain, in the Gazakh-Ganja zone, on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, on the northeastern and northern slopes of the Lesser Caucasus.

In addition, throughout the country, except for the Absheron Peninsula, the amount of precipitation decreased by 10-15%.

In general, the number of extreme hydrometeorological events has increased in the country, but the most critical situation is observed in the Kura, where the water discharge has approached the ecological minimum and there is a threat of destruction of the river ecosystem.

According to the author, prices for food raw materials in the world market have reached their maximum over the past 7 years, the main reason is the global world crisis. One of the main factors contributing to the rise in prices in Azerbaijan are officials and deputies, the entrepreneurs behind them. With the capture by officials of the main spheres of activity in the country, free enterprise was destroyed.
