Media Review for January 16, 2020
The development of the agricultural park system, the reduction of imported butter and its shortage in stores, and the situation with agricultural exports are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about agricultural parks created in the country, the number of which will be brought to 51. Currently, there are 17 agricultural parks that grow agricultural products on 104 thousand ha.
So far, 2.2 billion manat has been allocated for the creation of 31 agricultural parks, and the cost of their production will be from 800 million to 1 billion manat.
The state allocated 192 million manat of soft loans to agricultural parks and large farms.
The website Musavat.com writes about the situation with butter. Its imports are cheaper, but in stores the price does not fall. So, the average import price of butter in 2019 was $ 5.1, while in 2018 the price was $ 5.8. However, according to statistics, the cost of butter in stores has not decreased.
The website Bizimyolinfo.az discusses the situation in agricultural exports with economist Natig Jafarli. If oil is not taken into account, the average cost of 1 kg of each exported product is $ 1, but for development, the value of exported 1 kg should be at least $ 10. According to the expert, if no fundamental changes take place in the management system, then positive progress in the country's economy should not be expected.
