Website “Müsavat.com” disputes a banking problem – overdue loans with expert Arzu Hasanov. According to him, as of May 1, total amount of overdue loans amounted to 921.5 million manats.
In comparison with April 1, there is an increase by 0.4%, and in comparison with the beginning of the year by 3.2%. At the end of April, a specific weight of overdue loans was 6.1%. In his view, during this year, problem loans are likely to increase, however, the situation is unlikely be as dramatic as in 2015.
Website “Modern.az” writes that at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis on May 27, deputies criticized activities of banks during debates over a draft law on credit unions.
The deputies believe that banks literally strangle citizens, trampling on all values. They suggested that the law on banking activity should be revised. In particular, the deputies were outraged about high interest rates at which banks issue loans, and proposed to reconsider this issue, for there are no high interest rates of this sort in any country. In addition, banks are not transparent in reporting, so bank customers have no trust in banks.
Website “Moderator.az" disputes a yesterday's situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with MP Arzu Nagiyev. The latter believes that this is a real provocation aimed at involving the CSTO in the conflict, as well as disrupting the parliamentary elections in Armenia scheduled for June 20.
Certain forces in Armenia are seeking to disrupt the delimitation and demarcation process and involve the CSTO therein. Radical forces want to disrupt the elections and declare a state of emergency in Armenia.

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
