Media Review for September 16
The Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, the problem of parking in Baku, punishment of some military personnel, Russia's note to Turkmenistan, and a decrease in foreign trade turnover are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations against the background of the 102nd anniversary of the liberation of Baku from the occupation. On this occasion, the heads of both states sent congratulations to each other.
Given the current political situation, the common position of the two states on the processes taking place in the region, on the protection of mutual interests, and on the fight against terrorism is of great importance.
Joint large-scale economic projects also play a huge role in the relations.
The website Redaktor.az discusses with the military expert Uzeyir Jafarov the situation with the servicemen who sent out a video with the arrested Armenian military man Gurgen Alaverdyan.
The use of smartphones by the military is prohibited, especially in such a situation, and the military were punished.
According to Uzeyir Jafarov, this is the right measure, since the disclosure of military secrets is unacceptable. The negligence by a few people could jeopardize the lives of many others.
The website Mətbuat.az writes about the problem with the parking of cars. The ban on parking on the side of the road has met with approval, but it is becoming a problem for motorists who simply have nowhere to put their cars. Many drivers do not know when they can be fined.
Experts believe that when building high-rise buildings, companies should build underground parking for all residents of the building.
In addition, the arbitrary construction of buildings makes it difficult to create parking spaces. There is an option to create modular parking lots in places of greatest congestion.
The website Yeniavaz.com writes about a note from Russia to Turkmenistan in connection with the closure of Russian-speaking classes. On the eve of the school year, the Turkmen side closed Russian classes. The Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan asked to clarify this issue, but there was no answer. The Russian side recalls the agreement signed on April 23, 2002 on the study of the Russian language in Turkmenistan and the Turkmen language in Russia. The Russian side expressed the hope that education in Russian will not be stopped in Turkmenistan.
The website Oxu.az discusses the situation with the decline in Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover. According to official sources, the volume of exports in January-July 2020 amounted to 13 billion 777.6 million US dollars, and imports were 5 billion 900.8 million US dollars.
According to the State Statistics Committee, as a result of import and export operations, a trade surplus of $ 1 billion 976 million was formed: “Compared to January-July 2019, foreign trade turnover actually decreased by 30.9%, and in real terms, by 22.5%. This included imports that decreased by 43.4% and exports that decreased by 7.1%.
In January-July 2020, legal entities and individuals of the country conducted trade operations with partners in 172 countries, and products were exported to 102 countries, and imported from 160 countries.
87.6% of foreign trade turnover fell on Italy, Russia, China, Ukraine, and the USA. –0-----
