Media Review June 12, 2019

Transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, the economic efficiency of the country's education, and the activities of private providers are the topics of today's media.

The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the most important and large part of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project - TANAP, which was officially opened in Turkey a year ago.

As it is known, SGC is implemented by the efforts of companies from 7 countries. This project is called the unifying link of SGC. The author also talks about the TAP project, which will receive blue fuel transported via TANAP in 2020 and deliver it to Italy.

The website Yeni Sabah.az talks about the economic basis of education in Azerbaijan with expert Natig Jafarli. He believes that education is the most important task of any state. A well-educated citizen, in addition to paying taxes, earns an average of $ 1 million for the state.

It is also about ideas, scientific discoveries and developments that are aimed at the development of the country. According to the expert, the education system in the country is ugly, because initiative and economic freedom are being stifled at the root.

The quality of education also depends on the labor market and the activities of companies in a competitive environment. Currently, 12,100 manat is spent on training each student from grades 1 through 11 from the state budget.

If the entrant enters for free education, the state will spend 9,200 manat on him for 4 years.

Thus, the budget spends AZN 21,300 on training every specialist. After graduating from university, he settles in one of the ministries and before retirement receives a salary in the amount of 300 thousand manat. At the same time, without producing any material benefits, he does not create added value. According to the expert, 1 million 580 thousand people officially work in the country. Of these, 900 thousand are paid from the state budget.

The newspaper Yeni Musavat writes about the activities of private providers. The state operators AzTelekom and BakTelekom, belonging to the Ministry of Communications, are oppressing private providers. In particular, they limit the use of telephone and cable infrastructure when wiring cables to buildings.

In addition, the state-owned operator AzTelekom is luring customers to itself. However, proposals to reduce prices on the Internet remain unanswered, and discounts on the cost of the Internet are not made.
