The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about congratulatory letters from US President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Republic Day on May 28 and the opening of the traditional international exhibition of oil and gas.

The author believes that this is proof of the leading role of Azerbaijan in the region, and also emphasizes that the President of Azerbaijan is a reliable partner, a world-class political leader.

The newspaper Yeni Musavat writes about the ban on holding rallies, discussing this topic with the chairman of the Aydinlar party, Gulamhuseyn Alibeyli, recalling that the ban began in January this year. The city authorities refused to hold 15 meetings. The author suggests that it will last until the autumn, which is associated with the expected signing of an agreement with the EU or early parliamentary elections.

Alibeyli suggests that the refusal to authorize meetings is associated with the authorities' fear of a rally similar to what took place on January 19.
