November 9 - National Flag Day, an MP"s view of the state budget, and the situation in public transport are the leading topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan devoted its editorial to the National Flag Day. The author of the article makes a tour of history, recalling that the national flag of the Azerbaijan People"s Republic was raised in 1918. The subsequent seventy-year Soviet history of Azerbaijan forced the national flag to be hidden in the memory archive, which reappeared only after the collapse of the USSR. Officially, Flag Day was announced on November 9, 2009.
The website Oxu.az cites the opinion of MP Aytan Mustafazadeh regarding the state budget for 2019. Despite the fact that the budget is called socially oriented, it actually does not meet these requirements, since neither the pensioners nor the handicapped feel this. The MP believes the Azerbaijani authorities will be able to make the budget truly social and support all needy groups of the population; salaries and benefits should be increased.
The website Bizimyol writes that the Baku Transport Agency brought 50 passenger buses to the country in the amount of $ 5 million. These are mainly Turkish buses for use within settlements and for intertown use. In Azerbaijan, they will be used inside the city. Experts say the buses produced by the Turkish company Karsan are cheap and of poor quality. Currently in Baku there are about 3,500 buses, the cost of each of which is 100-150 thousand manat. To fully update the bus fleet of the capital, 525 million manat is needed.
