The visit of the adviser to the US President on national security issues in Azerbaijan, the growing number of divorces, the flow of people from the regions to the capital are the leading topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the visit to the country of the adviser to the President of the United States on national security John Bolton. His visit is commented on by the Deputy Chief of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev.
He recalled all the issues that were discussed at the meeting of President Ilham Aliyev and John Bolton.
Hajiyev noted the constructiveness of the meeting and the contribution it will make to the bilateral relations. The sides also exchanged views on the ongoing regional processes, Hajiyev said.
The website Modern.az writes about divorces, the number of which for 8 months of the current year was 9877.
In general, the growth of divorces in Azerbaijani families has been observed since 2004. One of the reasons is the intervention of relatives, experts say.
While in 2004 there were 7,000 divorces, then in 2017 there were 14,514.
Among the reasons are also many economic and psychological problems.
The website Oxu.az writes that in view of the arbitrariness of officials in the regions, people are fleeing to the capital. Deputy Gudrat Hasanguliyev believes that preventing the flow is possible by the development of the non-oil sector of the country.
It is necessary to eliminate oil dependence.
The deputy also stressed that there are more lawlessness in the regions than in the capital. 90% of the heads of executive authorities exceed their authority. At the same time, the deputy stressed that it is possible to solve the problem of the flow of population to the capital with serious legal and economic reforms.

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
