Media Review September 14, 2019
The growth of electricity production in the country, the problem of students renting housing, and sale of carrion is the topic of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan reports on an increase in electricity production, noting that the country is turning from an importer into an exporter of electricity. Over the past period, 31 new power plants were built, some of which are on small rivers.
Last year, electricity worth $ 10 million was exported. On September 5 this year, the Shimal-2 power station was commissioned, the construction of which was started in 2011.
The Yeni Sabah.az website discusses students' problem of finding rental housing. Searches begin in August. In Baku, rented housing is expensive and not always equipped. Most often, apartments are rented by students of BSU, Medical University, Economic University, as well as Industrial and Petroleum Universities.
As for prices, the cost of a one-room apartment is 350 manat, a two-room apartment - 450 manat, and a three-room apartment - 500 manat and above.
The Yeni Musavat newspaper writes that carrion is being sold in the consumer market. About 40 tons of meat of dead animals was found in barns in Absheron. Eight people from this group have already been arrested. Dr. Adil Geybulla claims that carrion consumption is fraught with consequences. Poisoning from doner-kebab or sausages often occurs, which is associated with the quality of the meat.
A veterinary examination of meat is often formal in nature, which leads to the appearance of diseases such as anthrax and brucellosis.
