Mehman Huseynov nominated for the international award "Index Awards 2019"
Baku/28.03.19/Turan: Video blogger Mehman Huseynov was nominated for the IndexAwards2019 award by the international journalistic organization Censorship Index.
The report of this structure notes that Huseynov is a journalist and human rights activist in Azerbaijan, where freedom of the press is violated. Huseynov is known for reporting against corruption and human rights violations.
Mehman Huseynov was in the list of 16 nominees among 400 applicants.
Along with him among the candidates re : the representatives of Afghanistan, Cameroon, Egypt, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States.
Mehman Huseynov was convicted on false accusation of libel and was released on March 2, 2019 after two years in prison.
