Members of the organized criminal group involved in smuggling 73 kg of drugs from Iran were detained
Baku/05.08.23/Turan: Members of an organized criminal group (OCG) who smuggled 73 kg of drugs from Iran have been detained, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan reported.
Natig Hajiyev, born in 1987, as well as previously convicted Yusif Huseynov, born in 1990 and Ramid Abdullayev, born in 1985, were detained during operational-search and operational-technical measures carried out by employees of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Baku.
73 kg of narcotic drugs, including 21 kg of heroin, 4 kg of opium, 41 kg of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances, 7 kg of methamphetamine, as well as 1,500 pieces of methadone tablets were seized from the suspects and at related addresses.
It was found that the detainees took drugs from a cache on the side of the road in the Garadagh district, where they were taken and hidden by an Iranian citizen named "Rza".
In fact, a criminal case has been opened, a preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen against the detainees, operational search and investigative measures are continuing. ---06B--
