Minister: over 100 judges dismissed from the system
Baku / 25.09.18 / Turan: By decisions of the judicial-legal council over 100 judges were removed from the judicial system because of mistakes and violations, stated the Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov on September 24 at the zonal meeting in Agstafa region. The judges of the Ganja Court of Appeal and the courts of first instance, under its jurisdiction, employees of the relevant structures participated in the meeting. According to the Minister, due to corruption offenses 35 judges were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
Not specifying during what period the specified number of judges were punished, the minister also noted that an evaluation of 80 judges is being carried out in principle. In the near future, more than 100 candidates are expected to appear in the courts.
According to Mammadov, the judiciary in recent years has been updated by 60%.
The minister pointed to the existence of facts of red tape from the judges, delaying their consideration of cases, unethical conduct. In the course of the meeting, shortcomings in the activities of the courts were also discussed, and the facts that cause complaints by citizens. -06D-
