Ministry of Emergency Situations calls for caution due to expected sharp change of weather conditions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Azerbaijan has appealed to the population due to the expected sharp change in weather conditions.
Citing data from the National Hydro-meteorology Service, the MES reports that strong winds, intense precipitation, short-term mud-flows and floods, thunderstorms are expected on the territory of the country in the coming days.
In this regard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations urges the population to strictly observe safety rules.
In particular, during strong winds it is recommended to stay away from light structures and temporary structures, buildings and billboards, not to stand under electric poles and wires, tall trees.
To protect against the risks associated with thunderstorms, it is recommended to disconnect electrical appliances from the network, do not talk on the phone (landline, mobile, payphone, etc.). When outdoors, do not approach power lines, lightning rods and antennas, do not take shelter under tall trees.
In case of being in a car, it is necessary to stop the vehicle, raise the windows and wait for the end of the thunderstorm, said in the warning of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
