Mirfeyzulla Seyidov Transferred under House Arrest
Baku / 22.05.18 / Turan: The activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Mirfeyzulla Seyidov, was released under house arrest on May 22 and is already at home, as his lawyer Javad Javadov told Turan.
According to him, the Narimanov District Court granted the defense's petition for changing the measure of restraint for house arrest.
The lawyer expressed his gratitude for the public support to human rights organizations, the media, and all who defended Seyidov.
He also thanked the Prosecutor General for reacting positively to the request of the defense to release Seyidov due to his grave state of health.
Seyidov was detained on May 9. The next day, the court applied a preventive measure of arrest for four months to him. Seyidov rejects the charge of large-scale illegal drug trade. -03D--
