More than 1000 citizens became victims of the "lottery" scam
Baku/12.09.22/Turan: In recent months, facts of deceiving citizens by organizing online lotteries in the WhatsApp messenger have become more frequent. People believe the promises that lottery participants would receiveby 5 times more money than invested, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement. It was established that the organizers of the lottery were two persons - Aida Aliyeva and her friend Gennady Pavlov. They were detained and taken to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.
The investigation showed that they created two groups, where they held lotteries for men and women separately. The men's group was led by Gennady Pavlov, and the women's group by Aida Aliyeva. The total number of participants exceeded 1000 people. The detainees prepared and distributed fake pay stubs to inspire people's trust.
They are charged under the Article on fraud of the Criminal Code. Aida Aliyeva and Gennady Pavlov were arrested by the court decision. --05D--
