Muslim Unity - Stop Lying!

The movement of Muslim Unity sent an appeal to civil society and the foreign embassies in Azerbaijan, which considers the recent pressure on members of the organization as a "black PR campaign" and blackening.

The authors of the appeal complain that the organization is still not registered, although all the documents have been prepared in accordance with the law.

"We are not an illegal organization, our goal is not pursuing anything contrary to the law, humanity and justice," the appeal says.

The authors express concern about violations of human rights and discrimination in the country, reminding officials of the need to respect the citizens of their country and the constitutional right of citizens to remind officials of their responsibility.

The statement completely denied attempts of official Baku to link the movement Muslim Unity with foreign forces.

The movement is ready to cooperate with the agencies working on the issue of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, and calls on the authorities to put an end to the policy of slander.

The authors of the appeal call to condemn the repression against members of the organization.

The leader of the movement, a well-known theologian Taleh Bagirzadeh was beaten by the police chief of the Yasamal district of Baku for the intention to visit the grave of the national hero Mubariz Ibrahimov with his like-minded ones.

The next day the Deputy Chairman of the movement Elchin Gasimli was detained.

Dozens of people gathered in front of the police and demanded his release, but the police dispersed the protesters and arrested 20 people. -05D04-
