Mutallim Orudzhev complained about the conditions of detention in the Shuvalan pre-trial detention center
Baku/02.08.22/Turan: Activist Mutallim Orudzhev, arrested after being expelled from Germany, complained about the conditions of detention in pre-trial detention center No. 3 in the village of Shuvelan.
This was reported by his relatives.
Thus, there are 14 prisoners in the cell in which Orudzhev is kept, while it is designed for eight people.
“Prisoners are forced to take turns sleeping. The room is constantly smoky. Therefore, the condition of Orudzhev, who suffers from a respiratory disease, is getting worse,” the same source said.
The Penitentiary Service could not be reached for comment.
Orudzhev was expelled from Germany by way of readmission on June 1 last year.
In October, he was arrested on charges of committing a crime under article 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (large-scale drug trafficking) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. -30V06-
