Nine relatives of Jangir Hajiyev received loans of the International Bank
Trial in the case of the former head of the "International Bank of Azerbaijan" (IBA) and other officials continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Afgan Hajiyev. In particular, Anar Sultanov, who in 2004-2010 headed the Central branch of IBA. He said that the branch had the right to grant loans without collateral to 2.000 manats and 5,000 manat with collateral.
More than these amounts were given loans by the decision of the credit committee and the board. After the head office made the decision to grant a loan, the branch office played more technical role.
"The decisions of the Board were compulsory for me," said Sultanov.
Responding the questions from the prosecutor, Sultanov said that he gave loans to the relatives and friends of the former chairman of the IBA Jangir Hajiyev by his own order.
So, the driver of the head of the bank Aydin Mehdiyev was granted a loan by 9 million manat. In addition, from the Central Branch were granted loans to Hajiyev's wife and daughters, as well as the daughter of the former head of the National Security Ministry and Hajiyev’s brother- in-law Eldar Mahmudov. Total loans by plastic cards were issued to nine relatives of Hajiyev. The trial is ongoing. -03D-
