Ogtay Gulaliyev finally got a foreign passport
Baku/08.01.18/Turan: Head of the Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners" Ogtay Gulaliyev after many years of vain appeals, finally got a passport on the 8th of January (a passport). Today he was invited to the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Passports, Registration and Migration, where he was issued a foreign passport, saying that there were no restrictions on leaving the country, Gulaliyev told Turan.
In 2012, a criminal case was fabricated against Gulaliyev. At that time he was the coordinator of the civil society headquarters "Kura", which provides legal and advisory assistance to the population affected by the devastating floods on the Kura and Araz rivers.
A year ago the case was closed, but the ban on his departure from the country still remained in force.
Several times Gulaliyev applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, demanding the issuance of a passport and even paid the state fee, but each time he was refused in the ASAN service center, advising him to apply to the Ministry of Interior. Numerous appeals remained unanswered.
It is noteworthy that today, when issuing a passport from a human rights activist, the state duty was not taken, because at one time he already paid it. -06B-
